Sony
brought out their new weapons against Microsoft, to announce that its
new PlayStation 4 console will cost $ 399, $ 100 less than its
competitor Xbox One.
"The
landscape of video games is changing with new business models and new
ways to play," said Andrew House, president and CEO of Sony Computer
Entertainment.
The
announcement of the price was not the only salvo fired against
Microsoft at the launch of Sony in the annual industry trade show
Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3). The
biggest applause for the company came when Jack Tretton, president and
CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment America, announced that the company
would not try to restrict sales of used games. Tretton also said that the PS4 will not require a permanent internet connection.
"The
games on disc for PlayStation 4 will not need to connect to the
internet to play or any type of authentication," said Tretton. "If
you enjoy playing individual games offline, the PS4 will not ask you to
connect each individual and will not stop working if you have not
logged in 24 hours."
Microsoft
has been criticized for its vague comments on whether to allow users to
use your Xbox One games for sale, and its requirement that the new
console is connected to the Internet at least once every 24 hours.
Beyond these issues, Sony gave to prospective buyers expect PS4 lot of games this year. Santa
Monica Studios Company, developers of the franchise "God of War",
presented the story set in the Victorian era "The Order: 1866". Quantic
Dream, the French study creator of "Heavy Rain" and the upcoming
"Beyond: Two Souls", presented a comic look at fantasy "The Dark
Sorcerer".
Shu
Yoshida, president of Sony Worldwide Studios, said studies of the
company have over 30 games for PS4 in development, including 12 new
franchises.
Sony
also introduced to PS4 game images previously announced as "InFamous:
Second Son", while several independent developers of new generation had
titers in the event of Sony.
Bungie,
creator of the hit series "Halo" Xbox, presented the first images of
the highly anticipated game action title "Destiny". In total, Tretton said, more than 140 developing PS4 games.
Like Microsoft, Sony bet big on social networking functions. The
new version of the DualShock controller includes a button to "share"
that allows you to post pictures of what is being played.
Friends can watch while you play, and you can even let a friend take care from afar to spend an uphill battle. AP
